A lovely Swedish folk art footed trunk / box in Nordic pine with original blue paint from Hälsingland, Sweden, dated 1813. It has a domed top, hand painted initials and decorative floral accents, original iron hinges, brass beaded trim, and charming feet. It is probably a marriage chest made for a bride in the year of her marriage, 1813. This 200+ year old chest is a beauty.
